We are delighted to welcome Sharon Gilshenan to The Skin & Laser Clinic. Sharon is an experienced NHS nurse, with a strong medical background and many years’ experience in aesthetics. She will offer laser treatments, peels, Genuine Dermaroller and injectables, helping to meet the increasing demand from patients for these treatments. According to Kelly Harding, Director at The Skin & Laser Clinic, “Sharon’s medical background and strong focus on the patient experience made her an ideal candidate to join the team. Her new role means we will be able to treat more patients than ever before at the clinic, with appointments for injectables now available three days a week.”

Focus of the Month: Injectables We offer a range of non-surgical cosmetic and anti-ageing treatments to reduce the visible signs of ageing such as lines, wrinkles and facial creases. The Botox and dermal fillers including Restylane, Juvederm, Beletero and Sculptra facial volumiser are all highly popular treatments, backed by strong medical research. They deliver excellent results. When it comes to administering injectables, we have two particularly strong beliefs which we have adhered to since opening the clinic over three years ago. Firstly, we advocate the use of non-surgical treatments in a subtle way. This ensures that we truly enhance a patient’s appearance, making them look healthy and natural.. Secondly, taking our responsibility of care for our patients very seriously, we believe it’s important for a qualified medical practitioner to administer injectables. Their medical knowledge may be key, should any rare side effects occur. Do bear in mind that Botox, in addition to being used as an anti-ageing facial treatment, is also highly effective for those who suffer from excessive underarm sweating. If Botox is injected into the underarm, the nerves that stimulate sweat can be temporarily blocked, usually for around seven months.
